Sick Apple

Apple is not well. She is currently sitting in the guinea pig hutch recovering. No water or food will pass her beak unless I syring feed her (more like shove it down her throat and force her crop to fill up). Not sure how she will be and have braced the children for the event of her dying. Day 4 today she is still alert and better than day 2 when I had asked Michael to put her down (he decided to wait- thank goodness). Cross fingers that she is better soon....

Ballet Open Day

Felix's ballet school was open for parents to watch today. What more we could sit in on any class in the school. Felix and I enjoyed almost 3 hours of watching contemporary dance, folkloric dance and classical ballet from Felix beginner level to pre Australian Ballet level. Wow. Felix sat captivated and was so happy to watch and perform. He loved that in contemporary you can do a hand stand! He was so excited to show his teacher a new more for his classical ballet class. Fortunetly (as I have seen his many failed attemps at handstands!) he forgot about this extra dance move as his concentration in class was amazing 45 minutes straight he did not talk or figget. He was fixated on the task at hand- his concentration stunned me. Over diner I ask him if he enjoys his ballet classes "yes of course" but why I questioned "I don't know but I do want to marry my ballet teacher", he happily responded. Felix has been pre examined and as a result of Mr. Serious Concentration and consistant performance in class, he has passed his level without requiring an exam.

Misunderstood

I have discovered there are two types of people in my life. Those who understand and those who think they do. Unfortunately their are many of the later in my family. So if they were friends I would suggest they would not be in my life. This is a challenge for me. At times I drop my guard and will be stung. I will rant and rave huff and puff and let it go. But every time I have a moment again I feel frustrated and wonder why so many people understand me yet some family does not. No solutions exists. It is a matter of maintaining my self esteem and knowing that I have been true to myself. I have and will continue to always want to have a balanced real relationship with everyone in my life and will strive to continue to do this. I hope I remember to pick myself up when I fall.

Tragic Death Hits Household

Sunday ended sadly when Matilda's guinea pig Charlott Rose was savaged to death by a local Jack Russell off its lead. Matilda and Felix were heart broken and openly cried about the situation. Being a guinea pig with a particularly fun character, Charotte was very vocal and loved to "popcorn" around. Michael dug a grave in the front garden and we took it in turns saying some last goodbye messages and lay her to rest with a stick of celery and a carrot.
"my heart is broken and is hurting so much"
Felix cried.

Matilda woke this morning to crying "I want to hold my guinea"

Children show such raw emotion and I am proud that they express their sorrow so openly.

Thank you Charlotte fo being a faithful, fun-filled and loving friend to Matilda.

I needed to check the calender...............

I am 22 weeks and 1 day pregnant. I keep forgetting and have to check the calender. Thankfully we are half way through the term so my face to face teaching is only for another 5 weeks as I am getting incredibly tired teaching every day till the end of term. I finally seem to be teaching the way I imagined from the beginning, teaching is a learning skill and I have certainly learnt an incredible amount. I am starting to waddle and get tired very quickly. My osteopath has suggested to start swimming so this week while the children are at their swimming lessons I will swim rather than watch them. The baby is head up so my bladder and kidneys get a good kicking 3-4 times daily. Although there is still weeks to go we are starting to get together birth plan #3 and contingency plans for all the possibilities of who, when and where. Felix has expressed that it is time for another boy...

The chickens are girls, Zucchini is a girl and 2 of the guinea pigs are girls. GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS everywhere. We need another boy.

We will just all need to wait and see.
